EDUCATING STUDENT-ATHLETES

The ASC Annual Tennis + School Program is the ultimate expression of the Academy’s mission: “Creating opportunities in tennis, in education, and in life”. We offer the best high-performance tennis training combined with an excellent academic education in our own school, ES International School, located inside the Sánchez-Casal Tennis Academy facilities.

The Annual Tennis + School Program provides optimal conditions for our students-athletes to reach their maximum athletic performance and continue with their studies at the same time.

Fully compatible: The school program is offered in a format that makes it fully compatible with a student’s tennis training without undermining academic quality. Each student is assigned an Academic Advisor and an Athletic Tutor, who are responsible for overseeing the student’s development, welfare and progress. The Academic advisor and the Athletic Tutor of each student-athlete always coordinate to align the academic and athletic needs of every student.

Training and schoolling take place in the same world-class campus in Barcelona and Florida: The student-athlete is offered on site all the services a tennis player or a student may need. The combined ASC/ES curriculum encourages active participation, a healthy lifestyle, and an enjoyable athletic and academic atmosphere.

A UNIQUE TRAINING SYSTEM

Train with the ASC 360 Tennis System®, unique in the world: Designed by Emilio Sánchez Vicario and Sergio Casal, it is based on four core pillars: technical, tactical, physical and mental. Each of these four pillars is developed intensively, and each is tailored to the player’s stage, which depends on age, physical condition and tennis level.

The stages are reflected in the ASC Development Pyramid©, and range from the initiation stage to the elite stage.

AN OUTSTANDING EDUCATION

An outstanding global education: ES International School is an independent, coeducational, American School. Its objective is to provide its students with an excellent academic experience that prepares them for future university studies. Students follow an American academic program, but also benefit from the multitude of cultures offered by their teachers and fellow students. All students receive individual attention, close academic guidance and personal counseling, in order to ensure both the acquisition of academic competencies and the development of individual strengths and talents.

ES International School in Barcelona is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.

College planning and placement: The ASC and ES International School College Planning & Placement works with student-athletes and families to create an individualized roadmap for studying and playing tennis at the appropriate collegiate level. The ASC college planning and placement program guides all parents and students through every step of the college selection, application and admission process. This work begins when a student enters high school (grade 9) and incorporates families and coaches, as well as university admissions and athletic staff, within an integrated game plan.

In order to protect our students and our staff, ASC complies rigorously with all the security, hygiene and cleaning protocols set by the Government and world health organizations. Our main objective is to ensure the health of all members of the Sánchez-Casal family.
